Evidence of the intentional use of black henbane in the Roman Netherlands

This article presents evidence of the intentional use of black henbane (Hyoscyamus niger) in the Roman Netherlands. Archaeobotanical analysis of plant remains found at a Roman military settlement reveals the presence of black henbane, suggesting its deliberate cultivation and use during the Roman period.
