I wanted something as simple as Apple Notes, but without tying my writing to any app.

So I made Mdit, a lightweight Markdown editor for macOS that keeps everything as plain .md files in folders you choose.

No accounts, no cloud, no tracking. Just a clean and pretty space to write with a simple interface.
